With a life-long mission to always introduce something new and exciting, experienced executive Ahmad Izham Omar has had a successful track record in the media and content business across Southeast Asia (SEA).
Currently Chief Explorer of Komet Productions, Izham focuses on new and progressive SEA films which include recent hits Siksa Kubur, Blood Brothers Bara Naga and Ejen Ali The Movie 2.
Izham was Executive Director at The Walt Disney Company SEA, spearheading SEA original content for Disney+. He was also CEO of Primeworks Studios. Izham was also CEO of Media Prima TV Networks, overseeing Malaysia’s no. 1 TV station TV3, the leading urban station 8TV (which he started), as well as ntv7 and TV9. Izham also launched the OTT tonton and radio stations Hot FM, Fly FM and One FM.
Izham started his career running the legendary Positive Tone record label in 1994, which housed top-named artists including OAG, Poetic Ammo, Innuendo, Too Phat, Ruffedge and many more. In 1998, he sold the label to EMI, taking on an additional role as EMI Malaysia’s A&R Director. In 2009, he launched a label in Media Prima called Monkey Bone, which housed some of Malaysia’s biggest stars including Shila Amzah, Faizal Tahir and Jaclyn Victor. As a multi award-winning musician, Izham has also worked on numerous albums including from Siti Nurhaliza, Malique, Irish rock band Relish and K-pop group Billlie.
Izham is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and a Vice-Chairperson of Music Authors’ Copyright Protection (MACP).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
