David R. Hardoon

Dr David Hardoon is a leading international voice on data, artificial intelligence, and responsible innovation, with over two decades of experience spanning executive leadership, government strategy, academia, and boardroom advisory. He currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Advanced AI for Southeast Asia at Accenture, where he leads the firm's strategy, deployment, and governance of enterprise-scale generative and agentic AI solutions.

Prior to joining Accenture, David held senior global and regional executive roles, including Global Head of AI Enablement at Standard Chartered, CEO of Aboitiz Data Innovation, and Group Chief Data and AI Officer at UnionBank of the Philippines. Earlier in his career, he served as the inaugural Chief Data Officer and Head of the Data Analytics Group at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), where he was later appointed Special Advisor on Artificial Intelligence. During his tenure at MAS, he shaped the financial sector's national AI strategy and spearheaded the development of the Fairness, Ethics, Accountability, and Transparency (FEAT) principles which is a global benchmark for responsible AI governance, alongside the MAS-backed Veritas consortium.

In an advisory capacity, David has guided public sector bodies including Singapore’s Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) and Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board on data science strategy. He is also the author of The AI Failure Handbook and serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director and advisor to various organisations globally. David holds a PhD in Computer Science (Machine Learning) from the University of Southampton and a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from Royal Holloway, University of London.
