Dr. Anil K. Gupta is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading experts on strategy, globalisation, and emerging markets. He holds the Michael D. Dingman Chair in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, The University of Maryland, and serves as Chief Advisor to the China India Institute, a Washington DC-based research and consulting organization.
In recognition of his multi-decade contributions to international business strategy and global trade dynamics, Dr. Gupta was inducted into the Thinkers50 Hall of Fame. He is also one of only a select few scholars elected as a Lifetime Fellow across all three major global management bodies: the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society, and the Academy of International Business.

He has served as a strategic adviser, executive instructor, and consultant to many of the Fortune 500 companies.
He earned his doctorate from Harvard Business School, an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.
