Costas Markides is Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and holds the Robert P. Bauman Chair of Strategic Leadership at London Business School. 

Repeatedly ranked among the world’s top management thinkers by Thinkers50, Markides is recognized as one of the world’s foremost experts on business strategy, strategic innovation, and organizational agility. An internationally acclaimed teacher and speaker, his work explores how established companies can navigate continuous disruption, pursue radical innovation, and successfully manage dual business models within the same industry. 

His recent research focuses on corporate diversification and strategic growth in the era of Data and AI, as well as how business model innovation can be applied to solve global social challenges such as poverty, climate change, and malnutrition. 

Markides has published several seminal books on strategy and innovation, including bestsellers All the Right Moves (HBS Press, 2000), Fast Second (Wiley, 2004), Game-Changing Strategies (Wiley, 2008), Organizing for the New Normal (Kogan Page, 2021), and Business Model Innovation (Cambridge University Press, 2023). 

He serves on the editorial boards of leading academic journals and has served on the Board of Directors of the Strategic Management Society. He was also a fellow at the World Economic Forum in Davos (1999–2003, 2012–2013).
