A widely experienced international economist, Dame DeAnne is currently chair of UCL and a non-executive director on the boards of ICE Benchmark Administration and Jones Lang LaSalle. She also serves on the International Advisory Council of the China Investment Corporation, the Chatham House Panel of Senior Advisors (London) and the advisory board of Rock Creek Global (Washington DC). Her previous directorships include BP, where she chaired the remuneration committee; Serco, where she was the SID; Roche, where she chaired the audit committee; Lloyds Bank and Deloitte UK.

From 2003 to 2012, Dame DeAnne was Chairman of Chatham House. From 1997 to 2001, she was a founder member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England and she subsequently served on its Court. Prior to joining the MPC, she held a number of positions in the private sector including Chief Economist at British Airways and Shell.
