Christophe Galfard is a renowned physicist specialising in theoretical physics.

He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge under the direction of Stephen Hawking, the famous British theoretical physicist. Christophe Galfard's objective is to make science accessible to all, whether through his books or the many conferences he hosts on the secrets of science. He collaborated with Stephen and Lucy Hawking on a novel aimed at children, "George and the Secrets of the Universe", to show science in a fun and entertaining way. He has also published "The Universe in your Hand" in 2015 and "How to Understand E =mc2" in 2017.

Christophe Galfard is a graduate of École Centrale Paris in theoretical physics. He entered the University of Cambridge shortly after, where he has worked on his thesis for six years under the direction of the famous astrophysicist, Stephen Hawking. They worked together on the formation of black holes and on the origin of the Universe. After completing his Ph.D. in theoretical physics, Christophe Galfard devoted himself to the popularisation of science through the explanation of the latest scientists’ discoveries.

He pursues his goal by participating in many conferences around the world as a speaker, to answer questions from the audience about the Universe, the Big Bang, the existence of black holes, aliens or even parallel worlds, but always in a fun and entertaining way. Stephen Hawking’s former student recently hosted a series of ten lectures at the MK2 in Paris to help decoding the latest scientific discoveries, entitled "Come and explore the universe with Christophe Galfard". Whilst undertaking this, he participated in several TEDx talks where he talks about galaxies, quantum computer and parallel universes.

Christophe Galfard regularly hosts radio shows on French radio “France Inter”: "The universe at hand" and "The universe in three minutes". He has also made numerous appearances on French television: "In search of extra-terrestrial life" on BFMTV; "The man who dissects the mysteries of the universe" in the magazine "C à vous", «JT de 13h » on France 2 and an interview on the "Comment ça va bien" show hosted by journalist Stéphane Bern.

He has published four bestselling books for children to date. Christophe Galfard's bestseller book "The Universe in your Hand" has been translated into 21 languages.
